Aug. 12: Another heat advisory in effect before inland thunderstorms return

High temperatures will be in the low to middle 90s again on Wednesday. Factor in the very high humidity and the heat index is soaring above 105° this afternoon. This is similar to the last couple days, but the difference on Wednesday is the addition of showers and thunderstorms. After 2 p.m., spotty showers will begin developing across inland areas. We will be drier at the beaches, although a few showers will make a run at the coast. These will linger around in spots through the evening commute.

More of the same is expected in the next few days with higher-than-average levels of humidity. A few showers and thunderstorms each afternoon are expected, but no organized storm systems will move in anytime soon.
