Sept. 11: Rounds of widespread thunderstorms continue into the weekend

Friday will be another active weather day for South Florida with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some could produce heavy rain that leads to minor flooding, numerous lightning strikes, and gusty winds. Unlike Thursday when most storms moved through early afternoon and moved west to dry us out, we will have storms at any time Friday or even into tonight. There will be plenty of dry time in between.

Thunderstorm chances remain high into the weekend, especially on Saturday. Some storms could be strong and any cities picking up 2-4 inches of rain in a short time could experience more minor flooding. High temperatures will be capped around 90 degrees each day.
