Unlike yesterday, we started the day with plenty of sunshine. This will warm us up to 90° this afternoon. There’s also a storm system moving in from the Atlantic that will combine with today’s heating to give us a round of thunderstorms. The first storms will develop between noon-2 p.m. Highest chances will be from 2 p.m.-7 p.m. Some storms could be severe with damaging wind gusts and hail. Since the ground is saturated from recent heavy rain, flooding is also possible.
This pattern is locked in for the weekend and most of next week. It does not look like a complete washout, but expect rounds of thunderstorms with very heavy rain and dry breaks in between. When added all up through next week, this could be a drought busting rainfall for South Florida.
