Operation Homefront Back-to-School Brigade to stop at 2 Miami-Dade locations

MIAMI – The families of wounded warriors and of active-duty National Guard and reserve military personnel of all ranks can receive free backpacks and back-to-school supplies for their children from the Operation Homefront Back-to-School Brigade.

Hundreds of backpacks and necessary school supplies will be distributed Aug. 12 at Williams Army Reserve Center in Miami and at Homestead Air Force Base.

Only families that register may receive items. Click here to register online.

For those who want to donate, Dollar Tree stores are collecting donations now through Aug. 10.  This is the ninth year that Dollar Tree has partnered with Operation Homefront to provide school supplies to military children.

Last year, Dollar Tree customers donated more than $4.5 million of school supplies nationally.

Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable and secure military families so that they can thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.
