FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — South Florida’s Indian community will come together Sunday to celebrate India’s independence with a day of music, dance, food and cultural traditions.
The Florida chapter of the Association of Indians in America will host India Day at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The free celebration will highlight India’s cultural diversity through live music and dance performances. Attendees also can experience Indian food, clothing and jewelry.
The event is part of celebrations marking India’s independence, giving members of South Florida’s Indian community an opportunity to honor their heritage and share its traditions with others.
Local 10’s Saira Anwer will serve as master of ceremonies.
