MIAMI – More than 800 people showed their support for The WOW Center's annual fundraising event on Saturday. The sold out event took place at the DoubleTree hotel in Miami and was supported by South Florida Hooters.
The WOW Center offers support, guidance and encouragement to adults with developmental disabilities.

Each fall, the nonprofit's annual fashion show takes center stage with special needs adults dressed like stars and models proudly walking down the runway. Hooters lends its support by way of Hooters girls, including Miss Hooters International Sable Robbert, helping with the fashion show.
"Hooters participation at The WOW Experience will increase awareness of WOW's mission in our community and the emerging practices that are taking place at The WOW Center to serve individuals with developmental disabilities," The WOW Center Director of Development Anay Abraham said.
The WOW Center currently serves more than 170 developmentally disabled adults, ages 21-76, from Miami-Dade County. Money is raised through sponsorship of the individuals, as well as donations and contributions made by organizations and families across South Florida. The funds will be used to support programs and recreational activities that provide adults with disabilities unique educational experiences.
