South Florida restaurant kitchen ordered shut for fourth time

State records show J’s Kitchen in Deerfield Beach was ordered shut for the fourth time last week by an inspector due to a rodent issue.

Several other restaurants also had their kitchens shut by The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

All the places mentioned were allowed to re-open following an ordered cleanup and re-inspection.

“Dead roaches on premises. Observed two dead roaches inside of the kitchen reach in cooler.”

“Stop Sale issued on time/temperature control for safety food due to temperature abuse. Observed Raw beef (68 F - Cold Holding); Raw Pork (68 F - Cold Holding) Cooked with rice (68 F - Cold Holding); according to operator stored in walk in cooler since yesterday . Observed Front prep area Sliced tomatoes (60F - Cold Holding); Sliced Ham (58 F - Cold Holding); Sliced pork (59 F - Cold Holding); American cheese (59 F - Cold Holding).”

“Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Observed Raw beef (68 F - Cold Holding); Raw Pork (68 F - Cold Holding) Cooked with rice (68 F - Cold Holding); according to operator stored in walk in cooler since yesterday.”

“Time/temperature control for safety food thawed in an improper manner. Observed swai fish being thawed out in standing water next to the three compartment sink.”

“Raw animal foods not properly separated from each other in holding unit based upon minimum required cooking temperature. Observed shell eggs over raw meat above of the meat.”

“Nonfood-contact surface soiled with grease, food debris, dirt, slime or dust. Observed reach in cooler gasket soiled.”

“Hot water supply not maintained during peak periods. Observed no hot water throughout the establishment.”

“No proof of required state approved employee training provided for any employees.”

“Establishment that serves a highly susceptible population failed to exclude food workers ill from the following symptoms, not caused by a noninfectious condition: sore throat with fever, vomiting or diarrhea. According to the manager the forms were ordered. Repeat Violation.”

“Food-contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime. Observed containers with food at units in the kitchen soiled.”
