Video: Kim Rothstein Sobbed As Ponzi Purses Were Taken Away

Ponzi wife Kim Rothstein could take the loss of the furniture and household goods, but the purses and shoes broke her.

When the auctioneers and the Rothstein bankruptcy trustee showed up at her residence to take away the goods she had purchased with Ponzi money raised by her husband, imprisoned Scott Rothstein. At times she hovered nearby, sobbing, and was most "endeared" to the purses -- one of which was a $3,000 Hello Kitty purse by Judith Lieber -- and her expensive shoe collection, said auctioneer Benny Fisher, of the Fisher Auction Company.

Fisher said that despite all the emotion, Rothstein was "courteous" throughout the process. She's now living in an undisclosed Ponzi property with the blessing of the feds.

Also in the video above, look for the portrait of Scott Rothstein. The artist was Patty Morse, of the Morse auto dealership family. It's on the block as well. A warehouse full of Rothstein's former household goods -- from his Las Olas home, two homes in Rhode Island, his Manhattan apartment, and the undisclosed property where Kim Rothstein now lives -- is open for viewing today to the public until 4 p.m. at the Gallery Center at 606 Banyan Trail in Boca Raton.
