BORDEAUX, France – You know what they say: What happens in France when the circus comes to town, stays in France.
A few French teenagers are making headlines after stealing a llama from a local circus last week and taking it for a wild ride around the city of Bordeaux.

According to The Independent, the five teens entered a closed circus in hopes of taking home a zebra. But when the zebra proved to be too stubborn, they set their sites on Serge the llama.
Once free from the confines of the circus, the boys took Serge on a walk through the city and then eventually on to Bordeaux's tram system. Pictures taken during the escapade documented all of the stops.
It was at the tram station where the teens were busted and Serge was left in the hands of a rail inspector.
The teens were arrested, but are not expected to be charged. A Facebook site created to rally support for the boys has reached over 700 thousand likes.
The newspaper says that Serge was fine and he was unable to perform in the circus the following night.
