PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – The owner of a Pembroke Pines pet store is hoping surveillance video will help police identify the woman who stole a puppy.
Petland owner Simon Rozenberg told Local 10 News the small Maltese puppy was stolen Friday night.
Rozenberg said the store was busy at the time of the theft, and the woman left with the puppy before employees noticed the dog was gone.
Surveillance video shows an employee hand her the dog and then walk to the cash register. A short time later, the woman attempts to conceal the puppy in her sweatshirt and walks out of the store.
Rozenberg said other puppies have been stolen in the past, but they were able to get them back with the help of the news.
