Clay's plays: Breakdown of Dolphins-Ravens

That one hurt. A lot.

The Dolphins aren't going to throw in the towel on the season, but this loss puts them in a terrible spot in the AFC Wild Card race. Not only are they now a game behind the final spot, but they have to fly to New England to take on the Patriots. Even if the Fins win that and their final two games at home, they would need help to make the playoffs.

3. Tannehill TD pass to Hartline

We'll at least get one positive play in here. This was an absolute dart placed in a perfect spot by Tannehill. It gave the Dolphins a 10-0 lead and they looked on their way to a huge win. It didn't work out that way.

2. Flacco TD pass to Steve Smith to cap 97-yard drive

The play wasn't spectacular. The drive was. With a 10-0 lead, the Fins were probably thinking they could force the Ravens into a quick 3 & out and get the ball back in great field position. Instead, they gave up a 12-play, 97-yard drive that changed the entire game. This gave Baltimore all the momentum into the half, which they kept by going 75 yards in 11 plays to score a TD on the opening drive of the 2nd half.

1. CJ Mosley sack of Tannehill on first drive of 4th

Trailing 14-10, the Dolphins mounted a drive that set them up with 1st and goal at the Baltimore 4. After a stuffed running play and a penalty, the Fins were pushed out to the 11-yard line, but still had a chance to take the lead. Once Tannehill went down and the Fins settled for a field goal, you had a feeling this one wasn't going Miami's way. They gave up a TD on the next drive and never scored again.
