Sakura up for auction after Dirty Dining reports

Restaurant ordered shut by inspectors 3 times since February

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – An online advertisement says Sakura Japan is closing its doors and is on the auction block.

The restaurant, located at 1335 NE 79th St. Causeway, has been the focus of several of Local 10 News investigative reporter Jeff Weinsier's Dirty Dining reports this year.

State records show Sakura was ordered shut by inspectors with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation on Feb. 5, then again Feb. 23 and a third time March 18.

Records show all three times, Sakura had rodent and roach issues. Several of the violations were "repeat violations."

According to the online ad, Sakura will go up for auction May 4.
