Counterfeit money found in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' coloring sheets at MIA

$2,000 in fake bills found between glued coloring sheets

MIAMI – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Miami International Airport discovered $2,000 in counterfeit money from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" coloring sheets on Sept. 16.

Customs spokesman Keith Smith said the fake currency was found in a package from Trinidad and Tobago. After selecting the package for examination, officers discovered the counterfeit money between two glued coloring sheets.

Officers seized the fake money and turned it over to the U.S. Secret Service for further investigation.

"Once again our officers' diligence in inspection operations has paid off," MIA Port Director Christopher Maston said. "They remain committed to protecting the American people and it shows in their hard work every day."
