According to a Sun-Sentinel report, Rothenberg chatted with an undercover detective in a "daddaughtersex" chat room, and attempted to persuade the stranger to let him have sex with her 13-year-old daughter.

Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the FBI's task force on crimes against children later found evidence that Rothenberg was sexually abusing two underage girls when they went to arrest him on child pornography charges, the report said.

Rothenberg is married, but does not have children.

A U.S. magistrate judge ordered that Rothenberg remain in jail at least until a hearing on Friday.
