MIAMI – A 16-year-old boy has died after he was shot several times Tuesday night in Miami.
The teenager, identified as Osmand Falls, was shot about 6:15 p.m. at the corner of Northwest 10th Avenue and Northwest First Street, Miami police Officer Frederica Burden said.
A man pointed a gun at the teen and shot him several times, Burden said. The gunman then fled east on Northwest First Street.
There were several people outside at the time of the shooting.
Falls was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where he died, Burden said Wednesday.
Authorities said a person of interest is in custody.
Shortly before the shooting, a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in a Miami Gardens apartment complex.
