Lizards, snakes escape from tobacco shop after car crashes through storefront

Owner says animals not dangerous

HIALEAH, Fla. – Several exotic lizards and snakes escaped Wednesday from a tobacco shop near Hialeah after a car crashed into the storefront.

The owner of the Smoke N Toke Lounge said a woman who was in the car with a child accidentally accelerated while reaching for something in her vehicle and went right through the storefront.

The woman's vehicle struck several glass enclosures containing dragon lizards and various exotic snakes.

Witnesses said they rushed to help the woman and child, who were unharmed by the crash.

However, the store owner said at least four snakes and lizards are missing as a result of the crash.

The owner, who said the animals are not dangerous, said several hookahs and some merchandise was also damaged during the crash.
