Student reflects on teacher killed in Coral Springs crash

Woman killed, son injured when stolen car slams into woman's Mercedes-Benz

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – A student of a South Florida teacher who was killed when a stolen car slammed into her Mercedes-Benz in Coral Springs spoke to Local 10 News about one of his favorite instructors.

"Everybody that came in contact with her loved her," Donny Rambus said Thursday of Christianne Weiner, who died after Tuesday morning's crash at Sample Road and Northwest 101st Avenue.

Weiner taught Rambus while he was in third grade at Coral Springs Elementary School. He said she was a teacher he'll always remember.

"She was a spectacular teacher," he said. "She was almost like a mother in the classroom and kind of like a friend in the classroom at the same time."

Family members said Weiner was driving her 11-year-old son to a dentist's appointment when a stolen Toyota Corolla crashed into her car.

Coral Springs police said officers were trying to stop the driver, identified as Eric Abraham. Police said the 17-year-old ran a red light.

Abraham and three other teenagers, including Tyree Goodwin, 18, were inside the stolen car.

Rambus called Weiner a "loving, caring, supportive person." That's how he chooses to remember her.

Weiner's son remains in the intensive care unit at Broward Health Medical Center. A GoFundMe page was created for anyone who wants to donate to her family.
