Hialeah man accused of burglarizing at least 3 vehicles

Gregory Gonzalez, 23, arrested Thursday

HIALEAH, Fla. – A Hialeah man was arrested Thursday, a day after he burglarized at least three vehicles in Hialeah, authorities said.

According to an arrest report, Gregory Gonzalez, 23, was captured on surveillance getting out of an older-model car, possibly a Crown Victoria, on Wednesday outside a home in the 500 block of West 79th Street.

The victim told police that he was in his bedroom when he heard a noise outside and looked out the window.

The man said he saw a vehicle parked in front of his house, and then the driver suddenly drove off.

The victim checked his home surveillance cameras and saw a man, believed to be Gonzalez, opening his car door.

Police said Gonzalez stole a wallet and a checkbook from the car.

Authorities said Gonzalez also rummaged through two vehicles in the 7900 block of West Fifth Avenue.

Nothing was taken in either incident, although a wallet had been left inside one of the vehicles, the arrest report said.

Police said Gonzalez is suspected to be involved in several other burglaries.

Authorities said all of the vehicles that were rummaged through had been left unlocked.

Gonzalez faces multiple counts of burglary.
