School bus crashes into house in Hialeah

About 30 students on bus at time; 8 treated for minor injuries at scene

HIALEAH, Fla. – A school bus crashed into a house Monday morning in Hialeah.

Sky 10 was above the scene as the front of the school bus was inside the house at the corner of West 12th Avenue and West 46th Street.

Hialeah fire Capt. Cesar Espinosa said a car and bus crashed at the intersection, sending the bus into the house.

About 30 students were on the bus at the time of the crash. Eight of them were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

A tow truck was used to pull the school bus out of the house.

The school bus said "Maria Elena School" on its side.

Local 10 News reporter Erica Rakow said nobody was inside the home at the time. She said the woman who lives there left about 10 minutes before the crash.

"She's been crying," neighbor Rafael Acevedo said.

A building inspector was called to inspect the home to make sure it is safe.
