1 taken to hospital as trauma alert after fire sparks in northwest Miami-Dade

Fire reported at 2-story commercial building

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – One person was taken to a hospital as a trauma alert Friday morning after a fire broke out at a building in northwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.

The fire was reported about 8 a.m at a two-story commercial building at 7308 NW 34th St.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said the warehouse houses aeronautical parts for engines.

The fire chief said there initially were concerns about metal shavings being a potential hazard that could fuel the fire, but that was eventually ruled out.

The fire is believed to have started on the second floor of the warehouse.

It's unclear what injuries the victim sustained or whether he was an employee at the warehouse.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
