The warehouse in the 5400 block of Northwest 37th Avenue was evacuated. The plume of smoke coming from the fire could be seen for miles. No one was hurt.

The warehouse is owned by Monison Pallets. The company specializes in manufacturing new and recycled wooden pallets and skids in either pine or hardwood species.

"Wood is the biggest combustible thing out there. I mean once one gets going they all get going, this is a really, really big fire you have thousands of pallets that have been stacked up and they are hard to control so in this case we just let the wood burn and try to protect everything around it,"  Captain David Rodriguez of the Hialeah Fire Department.
