Gunman crashes car after fleeing double shooting in Hialeah, police say

Another driver was hurt in the crash, authorities say


HIALEAH, Fla. – A gunman crashed his car late Friday after fleeing the scene of a double shooting in Hialeah, authorities said.

Lt. Eddie Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Hialeah Police Department, said a man, who was not identified, shot another man and a woman around 9 p.m. outside a home in the 900 block of the East 31st Street.

The gunman fled in a car and later crashed the vehicle near East Sixth Ave and East 41st Street, Rodriguez said. Another driver was also injured in the crash. Rodriguez said police arrested the gunman.

Paramedics transported the shooting victims and the injured driver to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Their conditions were not disclosed.
