Miami Gardens police said Kevin Willis was shot in the head during a robbery. The 50-year-old's body was found Nov. 2 at Scott Park.

According to an arrest report, a search of Willis' cellphone records revealed he was in communication with Kemp throughout the day and night before the shooting.

During an interview with investigators, Kemp admitted she knew Willis and had been with him during the day. She told investigators they were supposed to meet at Scott Park, but he never showed up.

Police said Willis left his home just before midnight Nov. 1 in a silver Chrysler 300. His stolen car was found Jan. 8 at an apartment complex on Northwest 155th Lane.

According to the report, a witness told investigators Kemp planned to meet Willis at Scott Park to rob him "because she knew he had money."

Investigators said phone records showed Kemp was in the area at the time of the shooting and near the apartment complex where Willis' car was later found.

Kemp is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. According to the report, Kemp tried to escape during a bathroom break before she was taken to jail.
