FBI seeks armed robbers who gained access to bank vault in Coral Springs

$5,000 reward offered for information leading to arrest, conviction

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for an armed robbery of a Priority One Credit Union branch in Coral Springs.

The robbery was reported Sept. 17 at the bank at 1700 N. University Drive.

FBI spokesman Jim Marshall said two people pulled out firearms and gained access to the bank's vault while repeatedly threatening to kill the victims inside the bank.

"Armed with handguns, they forced the tellers to the ground," Special Agent Justin Fleck said. "They were pretty aggressive and violent."

Surveillance video shows the masked thieves grabbing the tellers by the hair and forcing their way into the bank’s vault.

"They drag them across the lobby by their hair, hold a gun to their head -- so (it was) definitely (an) escalated level of violence for a bank robbery here in South Florida," Fleck said.

The FBI said an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

"It was a pretty good take, and like I said, it would be enough where if somebody thinks they know these people, (they) would have noticed a change in lifestyle," Fleck said.

Authorities said the robbers left on a stolen motorcycle, which they abandoned in the 1300 block of North University Drive.

The FBI said the thieves got into what authorities believe was a late-model, four-door Chrysler 300 with tinted windows.

Anyone with information about the robbers' identities is asked to call the FBI at 754-703-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
