The employee told Gabay that the company does a lotto inventory every week between February and April and it identified a $13,786 shortage at the Big Pine Key store.

Surveillance video from the store shows a store employee, Teresa Blanco, 41, taking $25 scratch-off tickets, but paying for lower $2 or $5 tickets, authorities said.

Detectives said Blanco confessed to stealing $10,000 worth of lottery tickets.

She faces a grand theft charge.
