3 residents displaced after fire starts in kitchen of efficiency

HIALEAH, Fla. – Firefighters battled a house fire Monday morning in Hialeah.

The fire started about 7 a.m. at an efficiency attached to a home on West 68th Street.

A view from Sky 10 showed smoke coming from the house. One man was seen trying to re-enter the home, but a firefighter prevented him from doing so.

Three people who live at the home were displaced by the fire.

Hialeah Fire Department Chief David Rodriguez said the fire started in the kitchen.

"Everybody was able to get out safely," Rodriguez said.

The American Red Cross has been contacted to provide assistance to the residents.
