New election security law backed by Ron DeSantis passes state Senate vote

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A new voting law pushed by Gov. Ron DeSantis has passed on the Florida Senate floor.

The chamber approved the bill that would create a police force dedicated to pursuing election crimes.

It would be known as the Office of Election Crimes and Security, and it would review fraud allegations.

DeSantis said more rules are needed to prevent wrongdoing, citing allegations oof fraud in parts of the Republican Parts.
