MIAMI – A woman helped federal law enforcement to take down a Latin King gang member in Miami who was sentenced to over three decades in prison on Wednesday, according to federal prosecutors.

Jason Wagner, better known as King Ace, asked the woman to drop the charges against him and refuse to testify in court, but federal prosecutors said she was brave.

Federal authorities came to know the courageous woman after she told a Good Samaritan that Wagner, 41, had been holding her hostage at his house.

Wagner was sexually exploiting girls and other women, locking them up in apartments, keeping their identification, and manipulating them with drugs and violence, according to prosecutors.

Chief District Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga sentenced Wagner to 380 months in prison after his conviction in October for two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; obstruction of sex trafficking enforcement; and use of interstate facilities in aid of racketeering.

U.S. Homeland Security Investigations Miami agents worked with the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Human Trafficking Squad and the South Florida Human Trafficking Task Force on the case.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about human trafficking to call 1-888-373-7888 or use the live chat at HumanTraffickingHotline.org.
