BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. ā The Humane Society of Broward County is hoping to find forever homes for two special dogs, including a senior pup in need of a second chance.
On Saturday, HSBCās Cherie Wachter introduced Kiki, a 10-year-old, 46-pound dog who recently arrived at the shelter after her 91-year-old owner suffered a fall and could no longer care for her.
Despite the transition, Wachter said Kiki is a loving companion.
āSheās got a frosted face, frosted paws, and she loves to give kisses,ā Wachter said. āSheās been in the same home for at least six years, and she gets along well with people of all ages, cats, and other dogs.ā
For those looking for a more energetic companion, Greg, a 4-year-old mix of a bully breed and Australian cattle dog, is also available. Wachter described Greg as a playful dog who loves chasing balls and entertaining himself with toys.
āHeās been at the shelter for over a month, and I donāt know why,ā Wachter said. āHeās sweet, friendly, and one of our Dollyās Dream dogs, meaning his adoption fee is covered, and he gets to go home with a shopping spree from our pet boutique.ā
While younger dogs often get adopted quickly, Wachter hopes Kiki finds a loving home soon.
āShe doesnāt understand why sheās at the shelter,ā Wachter said. āShe was extremely well-loved, and I really hope one of our viewers opens their heart to her.ā
The Humane Society of Broward County has more than two dozen puppies under six months old available for adoption, along with dogs of all ages.
Those interested can visit the shelter to meet Kiki, Greg, and many others looking for a home.
