BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — With the holiday season approaching, Rick Case Bikes for Kids is once again calling on the community to help make a difference for children in need.
Residents and visitors can drop off gently used bicycles at any Rick Case Automotive Group dealership in Broward County now through December 20.
Now in its 44th year, the annual program has collected more than 122,000 bikes since it began, distributing them to children through organizations including the Boys & Girls Clubs, Habitat for Humanity, Women in Distress, and a variety of local charities, schools, and religious groups.
“Most of us can remember our first bike and that feeling of independence and joy that comes with it. We bring that moment to kids in our community with Rick Case Bikes for Kids,” said Rita Case, President and CEO of the Rick Case Automotive Group. “What also makes it special is that for many of these kids, this is their first bike. I am incredibly grateful for the community’s generosity in donating bikes they no longer need, helping us make these holidays brighter for so many kids.”
Local 10 News visited Rick Case Honda’s Davie location last year, where the organization surprised children with brand new bicycles just before the holidays — a moment filled with smiles and excitement as families watched their kids ride away on their very first bikes.
Bicycles can be dropped off daily through Dec. 20 at any of the following Rick Case dealerships:
