PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Authorities in Broward County are investigating a fatal shooting.
It happened shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday at the Orion gas station, located at 3990 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd. in Pembroke Park.

Dozens of evidence makers were also observed throughout the scene.

“On scene, officers made contact with a witness who stated the victim, identified as Daniel Mathis, was involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown male at the Orion Gas Station located at 3990 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd,” St. Louis wrote in a news release. “At some point, the altercation escalated, and Mathis was shot.”
