2 dead, 5 injured after motorcycle hits car making U-turn in Deerfield Beach

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — Authorities have provided new details into a deadly crash that occurred on Saturday night in Broward County.

It happened along the 4000 block of West Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach.

According to traffic investigators, a 2017 Nissan Sentra was making a U-turn on Hillsboro Boulevard when it was struck by a 2022 Suzuki GSX-R570 motorcycle.

The impact caused the Nissan to flip over, officials said.

According to authorities, the driver of the motorcycle, Maxwell Patel, died at the scene.

An underage girl who was inside the Nissan was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Nissan and an underage boy were both taken to Broward Health North by first responders, with the boy later being taken by helicopter to Broward Health Medical Center for additional treatment, authorities said.

Officials said three other passengers in the Nissan, two adults and a child, were also taken to Broward Health Medical Center.

Both hospitalized juveniles are listed in critical condition, authorities said.
