FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Fort Lauderdale police were looking for burglars who stole from two Radio Shacks.
The first burglary happened at 971 State Road 84 about 8:30 a.m. August 14. The second burglary happened at 2741 Davie Boulevard about 8 a.m. August 27.
The burglars cut a hole in the roof and used a pick axe to pry open cases containing electronics, said investigators. The burglars made off with $40,000 worth of electronics from each store.
Surveillance cameras captured one of the burglars entering from the roof. Another man lowered the pick axe down to his accomplice.
It's the latest in a string of robberies at South Florida-area Radio Shacks. Last week, a store in Miami Shores was targeted by smash and grab crooks. In Pompano Beach, a clerk was held at gunpoint as men stole $20,000 in cellphone equipment.
Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Fort Lauderdale police at 954-828-5567.
