Summer needs orthopedic surgery to fix fractured femur

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Authorities are asking for the public's help finding whoever threw a kitten out of a car window on Interstate 95 in South Florida.

Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control investigators said the 3-month-old cat was thrown out of a car window during rush-hour traffic last Friday afternoon on the northbound I-95 ramp off Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach.

The kitten, now named Summer, is currently in the care of veterinarians. Summer needs orthopedic surgery to fix a fractured femur.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been traveling in the area or witnessed the incident to call Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control or Crime Stoppers at 800-458-TIPS. All callers can remain anonymous.
