The Humane Society of Broward is seeking a "furever" home for Madonna, Mariah, and other furry friends.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Cherie Wachter of the Humane Society of Broward County introduced two 9-week-old kittens, Madonna and Mariah, to Local 10 viewers on Saturday, highlighting the pair’s search for permanent homes.

Wachter said the kittens arrived at the shelter in early April weighing just 0.33 pounds, before their eyes had even opened. After spending several weeks in a volunteer foster home, she said the siblings are now ready for adoption.

Madonna, a black-and-white kitten, was described as outgoing and playful, while Mariah, a long-haired calico, was more reserved. Wachter noted that nearly all calico cats are female.

Wachter also spotlighted Kobe, a 1½-year-old dog available for adoption. She described him as energetic, playful and well-suited for an active family. Kobe enjoys playing with other dogs, entertaining himself with toys and splashing in water, according to Wachter.

Shelter staff encourages other prospective adopters to visit the shelter and meet available pets.
