FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Coco, a 5-year-old, 17-pound dog, is looking for a patient and loving forever home after being surrendered to the Humane Society of Broward.
Shelter officials said Coco came from a household with about 20 dogs and may have been used for breeding. She has spent very little time outdoors and is nervous around loud noises, cars and unfamiliar surroundings.
Despite her anxiety, Coco is described as a sweet dog who enjoys affection. She will need help with house training and would likely do best in a calm home where she can be the only pet.
Shelter staff recommend consistency and a regular schedule to help Coco adjust and learn to go outside. She appears to be comfortable using wee-wee pads.
