Hurricanes use 22-4 run to top Charleston

Ja'Quan Newton scores career-high 20 points in 85-63 win

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The 15th-ranked Miami Hurricanes basketball team used a 22-4 second-half run Saturday to steamroll the College of Charleston, 85-63.

Ja'Quan Newton came off the bench to score a career-high 20 points to help lead the 'Canes to a win on a day that saw No. 7 Duke and No. 4 Kentucky lose to unranked opponents.

Canyon Barry, the son of former 'Canes star Rick Barry, led Charleston with 20 points.

Next up, the 'Canes travel to Philadelphia on Tuesday to take on La Salle.
