MIAMI – The Miami Marlins took a high school pitcher with the first pick in the MLB draft.
With the No. 13 pick, the Marlins selected Trevor Rogers.
The lanky lefty is out of Carlsbad (N.M.) High school.
Scouting reports indicate that Rogers has a few kinks to work out before he's ready to reach the major leagues.
The Marlins are trying to replenish a minor league system that is lacking in depth.
