Cleveland comes into the game with a 3-5 record.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel made it clear Wednesday that the Dolphins will treat the Browns with respect.

McDaniel said, “The thing about the NFL is that it’s a challenge. There’s so many things at stake every week. Every week’s a challenge. This one in particular is a lot greater than people realize. This Cleveland Browns team is no joke. They are a good football team... Their record is their record... I think they can beat any football team in the National Football League on any week and you can’t say that about every team.”

McDaniel said that he knows several members of the Browns staff from his time with San Francisco.

The Dolphins head coach guaranteed that the team is not sleeping on the Browns.

He added that if a team is not prepared, “They will expose you in a harmful way.”

McDaniel said cornerback Byron Jones will not be ready for this week’s game.

Jones has been out all season.

McDaniel added, “If you’re sick of asking it, what do you think the microphone guy is?”

McDaniel talked about how special Tyreek Hill is as a wide receiver.

Hill’s special ability started to stand out to McDaniel during the summer as the Dolphins began to install their offense.

McDaniel said, “I’ve been fortunate to be around Andre Johnson in his prime, Julio Jones, Josh Gordon, Pierre Garcon... all these great players. He is different. We knew then in OTAs that he was different and this was a different deal.”

Off the field, McDaniel said he was impressed the first time he called out Hill during a team meeting. He said Hill’s response that day was corrected.

McDaniel said on Hill, “On the field, off the field, it’s not happenstance that he finds success.”
