Robin Hood and iHeartRadio announced a collaboration Thursday to present “Heroes of New York,” which will air Dec. 1 on television and radio stations in New York. The show will feature musical performances from Mariah Carey, Tony Bennett and Andra Day. The NBCUniversal streaming platform Peacock said Monday the Grammy-winning artist and Broadway songwriter Bareilles will star in Girls5eva, co-produced by Tina Fey. The comedy is about a one-hit-wonder girl group called Girls5eva from the 1990s whose members reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot. Fey asks to pull '30 Rock' episodes that featured blackface
NEW YORK At the request of co-creator Tina Fey, four episodes of the comedy 30 Rock are being removed from circulation because they featured characters performing in blackface. The series aired on NBC from 2006 to 2013, but episodes are still being shown in television syndication and on streaming services including Hulu, Amazon Prime, iTunes and Peacock. Two of the four eliminated 30 Rock episodes originally aired in 2010, with the others first shown in 2008 and 2010. They include the East Coast version of an episode first shown live. Fallon, who did not appear in such makeup on 30 Rock, apologized last month after online circulation of an earlier Saturday Night Live skit where he wore blackface to impersonate Chris Rock.

Knopf names Reagan Arthur as its new publisher
Arthur, 55, currently heads another venerable publisher, Little, Brown and Company, and will begin her new job on Feb. 11. She succeeds longtime Knopf publisher Sonny Mehta, who died in December at age 77 and had mentioned her in recent months as a worthy replacement. Like Mehta, Arthur has a long record of success. She will lead the Knopf, Schocken and Pantheon imprints and will report to Maya Mavjee, who has been named to the newly created position of president and publisher of Knopf Doubleday. There was almost a '30 Rock' spinoff with Alec Baldwin
Alec Baldwin almost reprised his iconic "30 Rock" role of Jack Donaghey for a new TV show where Jack leaves the corporate world to become the mayor of New York City, but he ended up backing out before the idea became an actual show. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Tina Fey was in talks with Baldwin to work on a "30 Rock" spinoff that featured Donaghey's new life as mayor of NYC. After Baldwin backed out (and crushed the dreams of "30 Rock" fans everywhere), Fey retooled the script, alongside frequent collaborator Robert Carlock, for Ted Danson. The result is a similar show that takes place in Los Angeles instead of New York City, and has no connection to "30 Rock." Danson will play a wealthy businessman who runs for mayor of Los Angeles "for all the wrong reasons."
