Crews work overnight to fix water main break in Miami-Dade’s Westchester area
A water main break along Bird Road between 87th and 89th avenues created traffic headaches for Tuesday drivers in Miami-Dade County’s Westchester area. A water main break flooded an area of Bird Road on Tuesday afternoon. (SKY 10)The 12-inch water main broke around 4 p.m. sending water gushing into the street and into a parking lot of a neighboring shopping center. A portion of the water main was isolated so that workres could excavate the pipe. A spokesperson with Miami Dade Water and Sewer told Local 10 that the break was not caused by construction, but was a “natural” break.
Traffic alert: Semi-trailer truck overturns on Golden Glades Interchange
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A semi-trailer truck overturned on Monday at the Golden Glades Interchange, which Florida Highway Patrol troopers closed in both directions in Miami-Dade County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the semi-trailer truck was blocking the ramp from State Road 9 northbound lanes to the Interstate 95 northbound lanes. FHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
