Tropical Depression Bonnie re-forms near North Carolina

Bonnie expected to bring heavy rain to North Carolina coast

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Bonnie is back.

Tropical Depression Bonnie re-developed Thursday off the coast of North Carolina.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami said the potential for heavy rainfall continues over coastal North Carolina.

Bonnie was located about 25 miles east-southeast of Cape Hatteras as of 11 a.m. and was forecast to move east over the Atlantic Ocean.

Although it's far from South Florida and doesn't pose a threat, Bonnie isn't the only tropical concern.

The National Hurricane Center said there is a 30 percent chance that an area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico could form by early next week.
