Windy weather whips across South Florida

Windy conditions could be felt all over South Florida Tuesday on the backside of a cold front that passed through on Monday.

Strong northwesterly winds are swinging in on the backside of the front’s attached area of low pressure currently sitting just off Florida’s Atlantic coast.

Winds have been gusting in the 20s and even low-mid 30s on Tuesday, prompting a wind advisory for metro and coastal Miami-Dade and Broward Counties until 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Brisk northwest winds are expected to continue overnight, sustained at 15-20 mph and gusting around 25 mph.

This will once again bring a chilly night to town as lows drop into the mid-50s.

Breezy weather is forecast to continue Wednesday, although not as strong. Winds are expected come in out of the north-northwest sustained at 15-20 mph, with gusts around 25 mph.
