After much-needed rain moved through South Florida on Tuesday, we have fewer thunderstorms on the way Wednesday. The front across Florida is in the process of washing out, so we have less lift in the atmosphere to spark thunderstorms, along with some drier air at cloud level. Less than half of the area will see a brief thunderstorm Wednesday, and storms will be less intense than they were Tuesday.
The drier trend continues for the rest of the week, with just an isolated pop-up or two possible. High temperatures will still climb to the low 90s, nearly 5 degrees above average. There are no signs the heat will break anytime soon.
