The men approached a couple outside their home and stated they were from the Water Department and needed to check the water because it was contaminated.

While one suspect took the couple into a bathroom for 20 minutes to "inspect" the water, the other suspect walked through the house unaccompanied.

The men then told the couple to give whatever money they had to pay for their services and that the water company would reimburse them. The couple paid the suspects $450 in cash.

The suspects then fled the scene in a Chevy Silverado pick-up truck.

Using security video from a nearby home, police were able to identify the truck and sent out an alert.

The Hialeah Police Department is urging residents to be aware and alert for any other groups that may attempt to pull of similar crimes.
