Humane Society of Broward County looking to find ‘furever’ homes for Pearla, Buttercup

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Humane Society of Broward County joined Local 10 News Saturday in continuing its search to find loving, permanent homes for pets.

HSBC Vice President of Marketing Cherie Wachter introduced Pearla to Local 10 viewers.

Wachter said Pearla was abandoned by her previous owners who tied her to the HSBC’s front gate when the business was closed.

Pearla is a 4-year-old English Bulldog or possible American Bulldog mix who weighs 46 pounds.

Pearla is fun, loving and super active, according to Wachter.

She knows how to obey some commands and loves to play with toys.

Wachter also said Maddy, the English Bulldog who made her Local 10 News last week, was adopted and has hopefully found her furever home.

Buttercup’s previous owner was ill and couldn’t take care of her anymore.

Wachter said Buttercup is on a diet and is sweet and one of the older cats that have been looking for a home.

Wachter said Pearla and Buttercup are available for the HSBC’s holiday sleepover program.

She said possible owners will be allowed to take Pearla or Buttercup home for two weeks and see if they’re a good fit for a family.

The HSBC also said they are accepting toy donations for the animals to play with at the shelter.

There are many more dogs, cats, rabbits and furry friends up for adoption at the Humane Society of Broward County.
