WYNWOOD, Fla. – A local artist unveiled an iconic mural in Wynwood Friday paying tribute to Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade.

The mural, which is located at the corner of Northwest 36th Street and Northwest Fifth Avenue, stands as a testament to Wade’s “indelible impact on the Miami Heat and the basketball world,” according to its creator, Kyle Holbrook.

Holbrook, who is in partnership with the Louis Wolfson III Foundation and Pinnacle Housing Group, said the mural captures the entire essence of Wade’s career.

Wade is seen in the mural standing triumphantly on top of the scores desk, immortalizing his status as a Miami Heat legend.

The mural proudly bears the words “Wade County,” reflecting the profound influence he has had on the team, the city and basketball culture at large, according to Holbrook.

Holbrook expressed his excitement about the project in a news release Friday, stating, “Creating this mural is an honor and a celebration of Dwyane Wade’s legacy. His impact on and off the court is immeasurable, and I hope this artwork becomes a symbol of inspiration for the Miami community.”

Wade, a three-time champion with the Miami Heat, also made 13 All-Star appearances, was named All-NBA eight times, All-Defensive team three times, led the gold medal-winning Team USA in scoring at the 2008 Olympics and became the Heat’s all-time leader in points (21,556), assists (5,310), steals (1,492) and games played (948) during his 16-year career.

He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame last August and became the Heat’s first-ever drafted player to receive the honor.

According to sources, the mural’s unveiling is a prelude to the upcoming Dwyane Wade Day, a celebration of the iconic player’s achievements and influence on the sport.
