Andrea Martinez joined the Local 10 News team as a reporter in April 2021.
Before joining Local 10, Andrea was the host of Pulso News by Telemundo, a daily digital news show catering to the English speaking LatinX market.
As a South Florida native, she is so happy to be working in her home market after spending five years reporting in South and East Texas.
Andrea was a weekend anchor and evening reporter for KENS 5 Eyewitness News at 10 p.m. in San Antonio, where she covered the tragic mass shooting at First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs. At the time, the massacre was the deadliest mass shooting in Texas.
Before San Antonio, Andrea started her broadcast career as a reporter and weekend anchor for the CBS affiliate in Tyler, Texas, CBS19. There, she reported on several devastating tornadoes including the Van tornado of 2015 and the Canton tornado of 2017 which ripped through a small town about 60 miles east of Dallas.
Andrea was born and raised in South Florida, but graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism. Fight on!
