Amy Viteri is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who joined Local 10 News in September 2015. She's currently an investigative reporter and enjoys uncovering issues facing South Florida communities.
A native of the Washington, D.C., area, she's happy to be back in South Florida.
Before coming to Miami, Amy reported at WSB-TV in Atlanta, where she partnered with Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta to cover stories that often assisted police make arrests. She exclusively covered the largest crackdown in Georgia history involving tax preparers accused of theft.
Before Atlanta, Amy worked in Nashville, Tennessee, where she covered the shooting death of NFL quarterback Steve McNair. She started her career as a Spanish-language reporter for Telemundo's affiliate in Washington. Prior to that she was a writer and segment producer at WJLA-TV in D.C.
Amy received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish literature at the George Washington University. She then worked abroad in London and Madrid before getting her Master of Arts in broadcast journalism at the University of Miami. Go 'Canes!
Amy is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She's looking forward to getting involved in the South Florida community and helping tell this community's stories.
