MIAMI Miami Heat forward Derrick Jones Jr. suffered a neck strain during Fridays game against the Indiana Pacers, the team announced. Jones ran collided with Goga Bitadze with 1:05 remaining in the third quarter. He underwent an MRI, a CT scan and a concussion test, according to the team. Doctors will re-evaluate him again over the weekend.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. Harrison Barnes of the Sacramento Kings became the latest NBA player to reveal that he has the coronavirus, making the announcement Tuesday and saying he has hopes to join his team for the leagues restart later this summer. Barnes is the only player who has started all 64 of the Kings games this season. Prior to the team leaving last week, I tested positive for Covid-19, Barnes wrote on social media. The league said Monday that 19 players tested positive during in-market testing after July 1, those tests being done before teams began arriving at Disney on July 7. Houstons Russell Westbrook said Monday that he has tested positive and has yet to join the Rockets at Disney.

MIAMI Miami Heat forward Derrick Jones Jr. has tested positive for COVID-19, according to multiple reports. The NBA began testing players for the coronavirus this week as it prepares to return to play late next month at Disneys Wide World of Sports complex near Orlando. According to the Sun Sentinel, Jones is asymptomatic and his timetable suggests he could be able to travel with the Heat to Disney in two weeks. Jones, 23, is the reigning NBA dunk contest champ and is averaging 8.9 points and 4.2 rebounds this season. A number of other NBA players have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 this week, including the Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokic, Indiana Pacers Malcolm Brogdon and Sacramento Kings Buddy Hield, Jabari Parker and Alex Len.
